DAVE HUGHES

Hughes is laconic to the point of dusty. Talking out the side of his mouth and affecting the nonchalance of the pub stalwart, he has the sort of blokey humour that doesn't require displays of manhood but disarms with droll rebuttal.
His material draws on a familiar well of dole and lazy bugger gags-with-a-twist that plays best in delivery rather than in print, though it's hard to resist the man who goes to the DSS and asks for a "raise" as "I deserve more; I've been here six months".

THE CREW

The Crew are a collection of comics, actors and other talented types who possess very vivid imaginations and the amazing ability to spontaneously create stories filled with drama, action and, of course, comedy out of a single-word suggestion from the audience. Masters of a variety of improvisational styles, The Crew are to able create a great scene in 10 seconds or keep it going for 30 minutes, delighting the audience with layered and hilarious tales, songs or quick fire impro games.
The Crew started performing together at The Comic's Lounge one Sunday evening during the 2001 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, with no name and no real idea as to what they were going to do. However, they soon realised they had something special and so did their audiences, which steadily grew as word of their show, 'Impro Sundae' got around. 'Impro Sundae' is now the longest running and most successful weekly impro comedy night in Australia, dazzling thousands of punters since its inception.
